Affiliate Marketing Beginner Advice: How and Where to Start Making Money Now

So you're starting an affiliate business and you want tips on how to get started. Here's some good affiliate marketing beginner advice: learn the ropes before you get started and get a feel for the basics. Affiliate marketing has many types and areas you can start in so lets look at the basics.

First, there are many different methods of getting paid in the affiliate marketing business. Pay per click (the best known program here is Google Adsense) is a method where you get paid based on referral advertising from your site or blog. Commissions are smaller and grow based on the flow coming from your site to the sponsoring advertiser. There is also pay per sale (programs like Clickbank) where you get paid for the sale of a product. Pay per sale works best when you get 50% or better of the sale -- I usually shoot for 75% for most products that I sell this way and it works better with a targeted form of promotion. Residual income is based on recruiting others to sell with you or to use and promote the product themselves. It can be single tier, multiple tier or MLM based. Programs with less tiers work better with beginners because they are easier to manage. Pay per lead programs actually pay you to refer people to another site or company. Insurance companies, dating sites, and other client based sellers usually use this method to get business and can pay quite handsomely. These are better suited to single topic blogs or web sites and you may have to adjust your beginner marketing learning curve to get adept at writing since many of these promote using product reviews to attract prospects.

The best affiliate marketing beginner advice I can give you is to start by picking a topic or area in which you can find a niche for yourself and excel in it. This means sorting out what topic you will go after and match up a product that fits well with it. There are whole product lines available and pushing a particular brand may suit your taste and passion. Do your research and try to match up products that are high in demand and you will increase your chances of success. This will help to drive independent affiliate marketing commissions for your business.

Most of all, get into a type of affiliate marketing program you can be enthusiatic and have passion about! This is a tough enough business and like other businesses, it will take time to build into a viable profit enterprise. So stick with it and show your passion about your topic to your prospects and customers. They will love you for it. At the end of this post is the beginning of a series of videos that can help you figure out how and where to start out.

Creating Personal Marketing Ideas: How to Zero in on Your Niche

Often people follow templates when building a home business. This is smart because it allows you to use other people's success to build your own. However, in today's market, innovation reaps the best rewards both in terms of money and recognition. Everyone is looking for that cutting edge product or new idea that revolutionizes an old idea. So how do you come up with creative personal marketing ideas that get you ahead of your competition?

The simple answer is having genuine single focus commitment toward meeting a set of goals that are clearly defined for yourself and your business. Don't have any goals? Take paper and pen and start making out some short term and long term goals for yourself. Make them concise and clear, make a definite timetable for meeting them and then start the creative juices to flowing.

Once the goals are done the real challenge of creative personal marketing ideas begins. This is self promotion pure and simple. Don't confuse this with tooting your own horn or bragging about yourself. The idea is to get your ideas in your chosen business niche defined and then to make yourself an authority everyone recognizes when they see you. Branding is the chief way to do this and involves having an image or statement people can associate with you.

Another way to get your noticed is by means of having a stunning product creation style that wows people when they see your work. Blogging is an example of this as people value unique and newsworthy content and they will come back time and time again to see what you have created that's new. Putting up fresh content regularly insures this happens which means blogging or a website with new content on a regular basis is a must. I often scour feeds I subscribe to looking for fresh content myself and its something people do all the time online.

Articles, posts and media like video and audio are all ways to generate creative personal marketing ideas. Do a Youtube. Publish an article that will lead people back to your blog or website. Put audio on your page that prompts people to listen to it. The idea is to do something that attracts attention and gets you noticed. This is what the cutting edge internet entrepreneurs of the future are doing and you should start looking at using these techniques to stay ahead of the competition.

Eat Your Veggies: The Serious Side of Working at Home

When I first started being online, it was as an adventure gamer. Later, my curiosity expanded and I found that I could use my online experience to make an extra income. There are some skills that come with running an online home business and I really just want to talk about 3 aspects:

Writing articles
: Writing articles is a way getting people to come from your site by writing and giving them information that is covered more in depth by the content they find on your site. Product recommendations, how to information, site reviews and opinion posts are all examples of the use of articles to further your business. You can use them to attract traffic, make sales and they can even be a source of extra income. How do you get good at writing articles? You can practice and do it yourself or use the talents of a freelance writer to do it for you.

Monetizing
: This is where you come up with ways to profit from the visitors who come to your site. If the theme for your site is well fitted to your audience, monetization will work great if you use products that are attractive to your visitors. Google Adsense is one form of monetization that many site and blog owners use. Another form of monetization is marketing to your opt-in list from your site. You can back end products via email and with special offers with this method. Affiliate sales (like Amazon.com) are also another way to monetize.

Recruiting and sales: Depending on what your product or service is, you will want to recruit customers/partners and conduct sales of your primary product or service. How do you do this? Advertising of course. You don't have to spend a mint to make advertising work and the best way is through free advertising on forums, back links to other sites, submissions to search engines and (surprise) people who come to your site from articles you've written. Google and Yahoo are also good places to advertise but be careful to keep the ads you set up there within your budget. The most important part of the sale is follow up and that means email, phone, snail mail or other means within your disposal. Make sure you do permission advertising by signing up prospective customers and partners through an auto responder and you won't run into any problems.

Yes being serious about your business may sound daunting like eating your veggies, but its really simple. Do things the right way the first time and you will find it easy to do. All the pieces will fit together like the pieces of a puzzle and give you a complete picture of your business.

Using Flock Browser To Help Promote Yourself and Your Business

With today's Web2.0 internet, people are using social networking sites more and more. With the huge numbers of social networking sites that are out there, it becomes a chore to reach audiences on these sites. One tool I use is Flock browser. It is a Firefox based browser that makes it easy to keep up with your posts in different places. I particularly like the ease of accessing my Twitter and Facebook contacts so I can respond to people who update their pages or who leave me messages.

Flock browser's interface includes a "My World" page that allows you to keep up with feeds from a number of sources, updates from your friends on different sites, ability to search for terms on places like Twitter and more. You can update blog posts on platforms like Blogspot and WordPress with ease. I find it easy to bookmark my articles and send it out to my friends list at sites I frequent -- a tool that is extremely useful.

The People sidebar allows you to look at friends you've added at a particular site (Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and any other social networking site supported by Flock) simultaneously where you can check out their posts, links, updated photos and more. You will also be able to see messages, friend requests, groups and other info in a snapshot. Often I scroll through these and use them to see who I need to respond to or use for a post if I am doing a promotion. Flock is a pretty versatile tool for acessing social networking sites and when you get to using it regularly, you will see it's value in promoting yourself and spreading word about your business.

Looking Up From the Bottom...

Been a while since I updated here and I promise to do better. Seems to have been a lifetime since I made a post here so here we go. Today's topic is the proverbial auto responder and how it can get you from looking up from the bottom in your home business to building a solid client base you can be proud of. First, let's start with the basics.

You must build a communication network for your business. Phone calls, emails, meetings and other forms of communication all play a part, but the most important part of this is having a database to keep up with everything. This where the auto responder comes in. It makes it easy to keep up with it all. People add themselves as they find you and you can keep up with what they are interested in, the last piece of communication they received from you, and manage where to plug them in with the next item that they need from your business.

Aweber is by far the best auto responder I've seen for the price. You can use their system for around $20 boucks a month to start and it's hard to beat. You can run several campaigns, go back and check out individual subscribers and keep tabs on loads of data like responses from your emails and who is opening them.

So when you get that home business going, plug in the auto responder as soon as you can. It will definitely be a plus for your business and give you a lot of guidance on where you need to be putting your efforts.

Prospecting Online: Secrets That Get You Noticed

When it comes to prospecting for leads for your online business, viral methods are generally the best bang for your buck. If you are on a shoestring ad budget, this may be the only way to go.

It boils down to this...

When you have a viral prospecting system in place
you can expect your advertising to take on a life of its own and continue
to grow effortlessly while you're focusing on more
important things such as family and friends.

Someone I recently found while exploring online managed to
accomplish the difficult task of duplication all while
maintaining their full time job and family life.

One of the things they mentioned was that right at the beginning of
his online ventures they searched for a system
that would bring interested prospects automatically.

Traditional advertising methods were not an option for them
because they required a lot of time and
commitment. Not possible when you are holding down a full time
job and only working your business part time.

What they wanted was a huge list that
could be built on auto-pilot from part time efforts.

"But did such a solution exist?"

If it did, they said they couldn't find it...

So after many years of struggling to build a solid
residual income through network marketing they
decided it was time to take the bull by the horns
(so to speak) and they created a 3 step marketing
system that literally exploded their list and prospects
within a few months.

The part that amazed me the most was the fact
that they didn't spend a dime on advertising. And
their list is now over 11,460 strong and
growing monthly on auto-pilot.

Ultimately I learned that being a successful
online entrepreneur involves providing some type of system
that helps your list grow virally, not sitting
around wondering why your ads aren't doing
anything.

I guess the quote from Zig Ziglar holds true:

"You can have everything in life you want, if you
just help enough other people get what they want."
